TheatreHazaaron Khwaishein Aisi is a Hindi-language political drama film directed by Sudhir Mishra. Although it was filmed in 2003, it was not released until 2005. The film features Kay Kay Menon, Chitrangada Singh, and Shiney Ahuja in the lead roles, with music composed by Shantanu Moitra.
Set during the Indian Emergency, the movie portrays the lives of three young individuals in the 1970s, a period of significant social and political upheaval in India. The title is derived from a poem by Urdu poet Mirza Ghalib.
The film was showcased at 12 film festivals over six months, including events in Turkey, Estonia, River to River (Florence), Berlin, Edinburgh, Washington, Goa, Bite The Mango (Bradford), Commonwealth (Manchester), India (Los Angeles), Dallas, and Pacific Rim (California).
