Biography:

Shiney Ahuja, an Indian actor prominent in Bollywood, marked his entry into the film industry with his debut in “Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi” in 2006, earning him the Filmfare Best Male Debut Award. He subsequently appeared in successful films like “Gangster,” “Woh Lamhe,” “Life in a Metro,” “Bhool Bhulaiyaa,” and “Welcome Back.”

Following his college education, Ahuja landed his first commercial advertisement for Pepsi, catapulting him into the radar of top advertising agencies. This led to a flurry of offers, with Ahuja featuring in over 40 ad films that year, including brands like Cadburys and Citibank. Additionally, he starred in the music video ‘Pyar ho Gaya’ for the British-Asian band “Stereo Nation” before being discovered by Sudhir Mishra, who offered him his debut film.

Born on May 15, 1973, into a Punjabi family in New Delhi, India, Ahuja’s mother hails from Shimla, with roots tracing back to Sargoda, and his father, Suraj Ahuja, from Sahiwal, both in present-day Pakistan. His father served as a lieutenant in the Indian Army. Ahuja pursued higher education at Hansraj College of Delhi University and later at R.V. College of Engineering, Bangalore. He became involved with the theatre group “TAG,” where he encountered Barry John, subsequently joining John’s acting school in Delhi. Ahuja is married to Anupam, and together they have a daughter named Arshiya.
