Theatre“Balu: ABCDEFG” is a 2005 Indian Telugu crime-action film written and directed by A. Karunakaran. The movie features Pawan Kalyan, Shriya, debutante Neha Oberoi, and Gulshan Grover. It was produced by C. Ashwini Dutt under Vyjayanthi Movies. The film’s tagline “ABCDEFG” represents “A Boy Can Do Everything For a Girl.” It was released on January 6, 2005, receiving mixed reviews but performing above average at the box office. The movie was remade twice in Bengali Bangladesh as “Dhakar King” (2012) and “Premik Number One” (2013) with Shakib Khan.
The story begins with a rowdy named Daasanna causing trouble in the Mahankali market. Balu, a newcomer who sets up a flower stall, impresses Daasanna by pretending to worship his mother, thus avoiding taxes. Balu’s actions give hope to the market’s people. Balu moves to the city with his family and a friend.
As the story unfolds, Balu meets Shwetha, and they initially clash. Balu’s mother recalls a past where her husband and son supported the people of Mahankali market in a land dispute, leading to their deaths. Shwetha falls in love with Balu after visiting his mother in the hospital, but Balu initially rejects her.
Balu attempts to steal market documents from Nayudamma with Daasanna’s help, saving Nayudamma from a bomb blast. Khan recognizes Balu as Ghani, his former associate. Flashbacks reveal Ghani’s transformation due to Indu, who also changes by gaining courage from Ghani. Ghani and Indu arrive in Agra, where it’s revealed that Rajeshwari Devi is Indu’s mother. Indu renames Ghani as Balu. Balu accepts Indu’s love, but Khan’s henchmen kill Indu. Balu promises to care for Indu’s family and fight for the market’s rights.
The story returns to Balu, who faces Khan after an accident. Khan is defeated, and after 20 years, the Mahankali market gains land rights.
