Story:

“Amar Akbar Anthony” is a 2018 Indian Telugu-language action drama film co-written and directed by Sreenu Vaitla. The movie stars Ravi Teja and Ileana D’Cruz in leading roles, along with Vikramjeet Virk and Abhimanyu Singh.

This film marks the fourth collaboration between Ravi Teja and Sreenu Vaitla, following their previous movies “Nee Kosam,” “Venky,” and “Dubai Seenu.” It was produced by Naveen Yerneni, Y. Ravi Shankar, and Mohan Cherukuri under their banner Mythri Movie Makers.

The pre-production work for the film commenced in June 2017, with principal photography starting in New York in April 2018. The story revolves around Amar, a man dealing with multiple personality disorder, who embarks on a vengeful killing spree. However, his mission is often obstructed by the emergence of two additional personalities that he is unaware of.

Upon its global release on November 16, 2018, the film received negative reviews from both critics and audiences and failed to perform well at the box office, resulting in it being considered a commercial disappointment.

Set in New York, the film follows Amar, a man with multiple personality disorder. Freed from prison, he inadvertently kills a businessman, triggering his three distinct personas: Akbar, Mark Anthony, and his own.

Akbar helps the needy, while Mark Anthony is a calm doctor. Amar meets Pooja, who also has MPD, and starts her therapy as Dr. Anthony. FBI agent Balwant Kharge investigates the murders, suspecting Amar’s involvement.

Amar eventually realizes his disorder’s origin, a past betrayal by four businessmen who awarded them “Fido” rings. Amar seeks revenge and orchestrates a complex plan to eliminate them. The film ends with Amar reuniting with his family.
