TheatreAction movie Raghavendra was released in 2003 and was written and directed by Posani Krishna Murali. Prabhas, Anshu, and Shweta Agarwal are its stars. Mani Sharma composed the score for the film. It was adapted by Suresh himself in Hindi as Rocky: The Rebel, but it was also dubbed as Sanyasi: The Warrior Saint (2008) and Sakthi in Malayalam. With Bappy Chowdhury and Pori Moni, it was recreated in Bangladeshi Bengali as Lover Number One.
Raghava (Prabhas) is a hot-blooded, restless young man who cannot stand social injustice. He gets into a brawl with Ankineedu (Anandaraj), a local don, in the process. Ankineedu kills Shirisha (Anshu), Raghava’s ladylove, with a knife. He also gives Murali Mohan and Prabha, Raghava’s parents, a deadline to leave the city. Raghava is only allowed to follow the agitated parents if he consents to hear what they have to say. Raghava, who had given up all hope, agreed to stop fighting and live a pious life. They take Raghava to Mantralayam, a relative’s home, and convert him to Raghavendra Swamy’s religion. Every single scene in this episode is a flashback.
Maha Lakshmi, played by Shweta Agarwal, is Raghava’s attractive fiancée from Mantralayam. When several thugs degrade Maha Lakshmi and strip her in front of everyone, he transforms into a saintly guy and remains silent. Raghava’s parents encourage him to give up his maala and return to society to help people after they forcibly restrained his propensity for aiding others. Raghava engages Ankineedu’s thugs in combat like a wounded tiger. To save people and get revenge on Sirisha’s death, Raghavendra kills Ankineedu in the end.
