Kannada and Telugu-language films are directed by Indian national Srinivas Raju. His first film as a filmmaker was the 2010 Kannada film Nannavanu. The Dandupalya franchise, which consists of the films Dandupalya (2012), Dandupalya 2 (2017), and Dandupalya 3 (2018), was his next move. He both wrote and directed the franchise. In the 2015 film Shivam, he also directed Upendra, a Kannada actor.
