Chandramukhi 2

Story:

A new Tamil comedy-horror film titled Chandramukhi 2 will be written and directed by P. Vasu and produced by Lyca Productions’ Subaskaran Allirajah. It is the second movie in the Chandramukhi series and a follow-up to Chandramukhi (2005). Kangana Ranaut, who plays the title character, and Raghava Lawrence are the movie’s stars. Supporting actors include Lakshmi Menon, Vadivelu, Srushti Dange, Raadhika Sarathkumar, and others.

The movie is slated for release on September 15, 2023. P. Vasu had said in January 2020 that he had finished the writing for the Chandramukhi sequel and a producer had stepped up to produce the movie. According to rumours, Raghava Lawrence will play the lead character in the movie. He later verified this on Twitter in April and added that Sun Pictures was the movie’s producer.

Raghava said that Lyca Productions is producing the movie in June 2022. Vadivelu joined the casting, and Anthony, R. D. Rajasekhar, and Thota Tharani would be in charge of editing, cinematography, and art direction. The lead female was revealed to be Kangana Ranaut in November. In Mysore, principal photography began in July 2022 and ended in August for the first schedule.

Ranaut joined the crew in March 2023 to film a climactic song; she had been spotted practising it in January. She finished filming her scenes that same month. In May, Raadhika had wrapped her sections. The production crew had declared the completion of primary photography in June. M. M. Keeravani composed the music and the background music for the movie. This is his first Tamil film in 22 years; his previous Tamil film was Student Number 1. It’s also his first time working with Vasu and Raghava on Chandramukhi 2.

Sony Music India has acquired the audio rights to the movie, the production company later stated. On August 11, 2023, the debut song “Swagathaanjali” was made available. On August 22, 2023, the second single “Moruniye” was made available. via addition to the first single that was previously released, composer Keeravani later revealed via his X account that nine more songs would be released, making a total of 10 songs for the movie.

The release date of Chandramukhi 2 is set for September 15, 2023, which also happens to be Ganesh Chaturthi and Mark Antony Day.
