Barroz

Story:

Barroz: Guardian of Treasures, or just Barroz, is a forthcoming children’s movie in the Indian Malayalam language that marks Mohanlal’s directorial debut. The film, which was produced by Antony Perumbavoor of Aashirvad Cinemas, has Maya Rao West as Isabella D’Gama and Mohanlal in the titular role. Tuhin Menon, Cesar Lorente Raton, Ignacio Mateos, and Kallirroi Tziafeta play minor parts.

In April 2019, Mohanlal revealed Barroz, which was first based on Jijo Punnoose’s book Barroz: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure. For more than a year, pre-production activities persisted. The film’s story, screenplay, and actors were all altered as a result of the COVID-19 epidemic, which halted principal photography in March 2021. Punnoose left the movie and lost his credits as a result of Mohanlal and T. K. Rajeev Kumar working together to rework the sequences, characters, and settings.

The movie was primarily filmed in Kochi and Goa, with two songs shot in Bangkok and Chennai. Production began in December 2021 and ended in July 2022. The entire movie was filmed in three dimensions. Lydian Nadhaswaram wrote the original songs, and Mark Kilian composed the background music. The technical team also included production designer Santhosh Raman, editor B. Ajith Kumar, and cinematographer Santosh Sivan. On December 25, 2024, which is Christmas, Barroz will be available in theaters in 3D and IMAX 3D.
