Thazhathupurakkal Panicker Karunakara Born on September 20, 1961, Rajeev Kumar is a Trivandrum-based Indian Malayalam film director who has won a National Award. Along with being a show director, theater performer, and percussionist (Mridangam), he has won five Kerala State Film Awards for Best Film, Director, Story Writer, and Script Writer.
In 1980, he founded and led the musical group Blue Birds, and in 1979, he was the leader of the comic show Super Mimics. In the University Youth Festivals from 1980 to 1982, he was also the Kerala University winner of Mono Act, and in 1979–1982, he was the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy winner.
