Indian author, screenwriter, and filmmaker Kalavoor Ravikumar is involved in Malayalam literature and cinema. After completing his schooling, he began working as a journalist for Kerala Kaumudi newspaper. He later joined Kalakaumudi as a member of the Jeevan TV program selection committee and subeditor.
In 1991, Ravikumar made his screenwriting debut with the film Ottayal Pattalam. In 2008, he directed his first film, Oridathoru Puzhayundu.
According to the copyright act, Ravikumar filed a lawsuit against the producers of the 2018 film Mohanlal, claiming that the film was based on his collection of stories called “Mohanlaline Enikipol Bhayankara Pediyanu.” Prior to the start of filming, Ravikumar had already filed a complaint with the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA).
