Malekudy Known by his stage name Antony Perumbavoor, Joseph Antony is an Indian actor, producer, distributor, and cinema exhibitor who works in the Malayalam film industry. In 1987, he started working for Mohanlal as a chauffeur. In the 1990s, he began making cameos in Malayalam movies. He founded Aashirvad Cinemas in 2000, a production company that only makes Mohanlal movies. Antony co-controls Maxlab Cinemas and Entertainments, a film distribution company, and also owns the Aashirvad Cineplexx chain of multiplex theaters. He is the Kerala Film Exhibitors United Organization’s (FEUOK) president.
Among his many accolades as a producer are two National Film Awards, four Kerala State Film Awards, and a Filmfare Awards South.
Elamma and Joseph of the Malekudy family were the parents of M. J. Antony at birth. He attended the MGM Higher Secondary School in Kuruppampady and a government upper primary school in Iringole, Perumbavoor. He is originally from Perumbavoor in the Ernakulam region of Kerala. Ashish Joe Antony and Anisha are Antony’s two children from his marriage to Shanti. He lives in Perumbavoor, Aimury.
