Lydian Nadhaswaram is an Indian musician from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, who was born on September 5, 2005. He competed on CBS’s The World’s Best in 2019 and won, taking home $1 million in prize money.
Jhansi, the second child of Tamil music director Varshan Satish, gave birth to Nadhaswaram. He began playing the drums when he was two years old, and he taught himself to play the piano when he was eight. He is a pupil of the century-old Madras Musical Association Choir’s music director, Augustine Paul.
Nadhaswaram attended the KM Music Conservatory, a university established by the AR Rahman Foundation in 2008, for four years. In a YouTube video, Nadhaswaram was shown in front of the composer at home, performing a piano rendition of A.R. Rahman’s Vande Matram.
With the Malayalam-language fantasy film Barroz: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure, which was directed by Mohanlal and starred Nadhaswaram in the lead role, it was reported in September 2019 that he would make his feature film composing debut. In the movie Atkan Chatkan, he portrayed Guddu.
