Plot
Chef Saloni Bagga hopes her restaurant will earn the Meraki Star. When she first meets Akhil Chadha, they click right away and soon get married. But soon after, issues in their marriage surface, one of which leads to Saloni losing her job as her restaurant loses its Meraki star. After the couple decides to split, Saloni moves to Mussoorie to work at Gurbir Singh Pannu’s restaurant. A series of circumstances culminate in a one-night stand between an inebriated Saloni and Gurbir. They also had a one-night stand after Akhil knocks on her home that same evening and demands her return.
These interactions lead to Saloni being pregnant. She discovers she is expecting twins after undergoing a paternity test to identify the baby’s father. To make things worse, the doctor informs her that the twins have different fathers, Akhil and Gurbir, because of an extremely uncommon condition called heteropaternal superfecundation. After Saloni chooses to keep both of the children, this leads to amusing scenarios in which Akhil and Gurbir attempt to demonstrate which of them is a better spouse and father. Saloni passes out after excessive stress during a heated family dispute When she is admitted to the hospital, the doctor informs her that while Akhil’s baby is growing normally, Gurbir’s baby is not, and that if they wait until the due date, Gurbir’s baby will not survive.
In order to give both babies a chance of survival, Akhil voluntarily chooses to have the twins medically delivered early. Fortunately, Saloni gives birth to two healthy baby girls and is doing well. She is moved after delivery when she learns about Akhil’s altruistic choice. After some time, Gurbir and his ex-girlfriend reconcile, and Saloni’s restaurant wins a Meraki star. Akhil agrees when Saloni asks him to marry her once more.
