Indian singer, actor, and producer Amninderpal Singh Virk (born May 11, 1992), better known by her stage name Ammy Virk, is connected to Punjabi music and, later, to Hindi and Punjabi cinema. He founded the distribution business In House Group and the producing venture Villagers Film Studio. His most well-known roles were those of Haakam in Angrej, Shivjit in Qismat & Qismat 2, Nikka in the Nikka Zaildar series, and Harjeet Singh in Harjeeta.
He earned the PTC Punjabi Film Awards’ Best Debut Actor Award for his role as Hakam in the historical romance Angrej (2015), which marked the beginning of his acting career. In addition, he had acting roles in Bambukat, Ardaas, Nikka Zaildar, Laung Laachi, and Qismat. The Tribune’s Gurnaaz Kaur called Virk’s portrayal of Nikka one of the most adored characters in Punjabi film. His Patiala-Shahi turban is a well-known feature. Angrej and Qismat, two of his films, are among the highest-grossing Punjabi productions ever. The Abhishek Dudhaiya-directed movie Bhuj The Pride Of India (2021) marked his Bollywood debut.
Amninderpal Singh Virk was born on May 11, 1992, into a Sikh Jat family in the Nabha, Patiala, village of Lohar Majra. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology at Punjabi University in Patiala. In an interview with The Tribune, he stated, “My mother suggested that I give singing a try. I know now. Because of my mother, I am a singer, and I appreciate her believing in me.
