Vijayalakshmi Singh

Biography:

Actress, director, costume designer, and Kannada producer Vijayalakshmi Singh is from India.  She is constantly involved in television ventures and has acted in numerous Kannada films. Film stars Prathima Devi and D. Shankar Singh were the parents of Vijayalakshmi, who was born in Mysore. Her older brother is film filmmaker Rajendra Singh Babu.

After making her heroine debut in 1981, Vijayalakshmi went on to co-star with leading Kannada actors such as Vishnuvardhan, Anant Nag, Ravichandran, Jai Jagadish, and Ramakrishna. Puttanna Kanagal, K. Balachander, Geethapriya, K. S. L. Swamy, and Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar were among the leading directors of the era with whom she collaborated.

Vijayalakshmi is multi-talented. She designed the costumes for several of Rajendra Singh Babu’s movies, including Hoovu Hannu, Bandhana, and Bhaari Bharjari Bete. She began working at Rani Maharani as a Production Controller. With well-known actors like Ee Bandhana, Male Barali Manju Irali, and Sweety Nanna Jodi, she has directed a number of successful Kannada films. In 2020, she made her television debut in the Kannada series Jothe Jotheyali. Jai Jagadish, a Kannada actor, is Vijayalakshmi’s spouse. Vaisiri, Vaibhavi, and Vainidhi, the couple’s three daughters, made their acting debuts in her 2019 Kannada film Yaana.
