Story:

‘180’ is an Indian romantic drama film directed by Jayendra Panchapakesan, who was co-writer for the screenplay alongside Subha and Umarji Anuradha. The movie was simultaneously shot in Telugu and Tamil, titled ‘Nootrenbadhu’ in the latter language. Starring Siddharth, Priya Anand, and Nithya Menen, with notable performances by Moulee, Tanikella Bharani, and Geetha, the film served as Siddharth’s comeback and marked Nithya Menen’s debut in Tamil cinema.

Dr. Ajay “AJ” Kumar (Siddharth) arrives in Hyderabad, adopting the alias Mano, and rents a house from the elderly couple S. V. S. Murthy (T. S. B. K. Moulee) and Jayamma (Geetha). A compassionate soul, Ajay lives with purpose, earning the affection of those around him. He befriends D. “Vidya” Vidyalakshmi (Nithya Menen), a newspaper photojournalist, and together they dedicate themselves to supporting underprivileged children’s education. As their bond deepens, Vidya expresses her feelings for Ajay, unaware that he’s harboring a tragic secret.

A flashback unveils Ajay’s past as a doctor in San Francisco, where he marries Renuka “Renu” Narayanan (Priya Anand), an interior designer. The couple’s happiness is shattered when Ajay is diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, given a mere six months to live—hence the title “180.” Heartbroken, Ajay decides to fake his death to spare Renu from prolonged anguish, only to discover later that she has found joy without him. Choosing not to disrupt her newfound peace, Ajay refrains from reuniting with Renu.

As Ajay is about to depart from Chennai, Vidya meets with an accident, necessitating surgery. In an unexpected twist, he takes Vidya to San Francisco for treatment. While there, he encounters his friend RJ “Sam” Sambasivam (Sricharan), who urges him to meet Renu. Observing her contentment from a distance, Ajay, now using the alias Jose in Rio de Janeiro, opts not to disrupt her life. In the poignant final scenes, he awaits his fate, playing football in Brazil and embracing the inevitable conclusion of his 180-day journey.”
