Biography:

Born Virender Raj Anand on October 12, 1945, Tinu Anand is a Hindi film actor, director, writer, and producer from India. She has also appeared in a few Telugu and Tamil films.

He is the brother of producer Bittu Anand, the uncle of director Siddharth Anand, and the son of renowned author Inder Raj Anand. He received his education at Mayo College in India. He is married to Shahnaz, the seasoned actor Agha’s (actor) daughter.

Although his father, Inder Raj Anand, was a well-known screenwriter, he discouraged Tinnu or his younger brother Bittu from working in the film industry. According to Inder Raj Anand, it was not the appropriate location for them. According to Tinnu Anand, “he was really furious when I informed him, I wanted to direct films. But in the end, he realised that I had no desire to do anything else. He thus chose the Satyajit Ray School as the ideal school for me. My father was close with Mr. Ray, therefore he requested that he mentor me.

“In the evening, I was given the dirty duty of promising Amitabh Rs. 5000 for the entire film, whether it took a year or five, because Tinnu had been granted a role in K. Abbas’ movie Saat Hindustani. Amitabh reluctantly concurred because he needed to get there. In Saat Hindustani, he played the poet’s companion. I had to leave up Saat Hindustani after my father received the letter from Satyajit Ray stating that I may collaborate with him. I then travelled for Calcutta, and Amitabh was cast in my purported position as the poet.

He advised me to learn how to shoot a movie when an actor isn’t present if I wanted to stay in this industry with actors like this. says: “When I showed Amitabh a scene starring him and Amjad Khan in a dubbing studio one day, I felt incredibly proud. He responded, “But I never shot with Amjad,” after being startled.

Anand also spent five years assisting Satyajit Ray in the direction of Bengali films such as Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne (1969), Aranyer Din Ratri (1970), Pratidwandi (1970), Seemabaddha (1971), and Ashani Sanket (1973).

In 2008, Anand played a significant role in Ghajini. Tinu Anand discussed his early years and Amitabh Bachchan’s benevolence in an interview.
