Singeetam Srinivasa Rao began writing a script in which the protagonist travels to both the past and the future after reading H. G. Wells’ novel The Time Machine (1895) as a student. For the previous era, he chose the reign of Sri Krishnadevaraya. He finished the script after studying the future at the American Library in Madras.
With a ₹1.52 crore budget, the film’s principal photography took roughly 110 days to complete. Sets from the Krishnadevaraya era were constructed at Hyderabad’s Annapurna Studios. Additionally, Vijaya Vauhini Studios and VGP Golden Beach in Madras were used for filming. Scenes set in forests were filmed in Talakona, Andhra Pradesh.
