American film editor Stephen Mirrione was born February 17, 1969. His most well-known accomplishment is his Academy Award-winning editing of the 2000 movie Traffic. California’s Santa Clara County is where Mirrione was born. He first attended Bellarmine College Preparatory before graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 1991 from the University of California, Santa Cruz. He started working with Doug Liman, who was a graduate student at the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts at the time, after relocating to Los Angeles. Getting In (1994), Swingers (1996), and Go (1999), a tribute to Akira Kurosawa’s 1950 film Rashomon, were Liman’s first feature films that Mirrione edited.
