Biography:

Gurmmeet Singh is an Indian film director, television director, dialogue writer, and actor who has been active in the industry for over 20 years.

His career began with the short film “Fear This,” which was selected for the Digital Talkies International Film Festival. Before making his directorial debut, Singh served as a second assistant director for “Ramji Londonwaley” (2005) and an assistant director for the blockbuster hit “Don” (2006), starring Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra Jonas and directed by Farhan Akhtar.

This experience catapulted Singh’s career, leading him to assist in “Gandhi, My Father” (2007), which won the Asia Pacific Screen Award and the National Film Award for Best Screenplay.

In 2008, Singh assisted Ashutosh Gowariker on “Jodhaa Akbar” (2008), starring Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and also worked on the comedy-drama “Fukrey Returns” (2017).

In 2013, Singh made his directorial debut with “Warning,” India’s first 3D underwater movie. He went on to co-produce and direct episodes for two seasons of the Amazon Prime series “Inside Edge” (2017), which was nominated for the Emmys.

Singh also crafted the story for “Mubarakan” (2017), a comedy-drama featuring Anil Kapoor, Ileana D’Cruz, Arjun Kapoor, and Athiya Shetty. Additionally, he directed episodes for two seasons of the critically acclaimed series “Mirzapur” (2018). His most recent directorial project was “Phone Bhoot” (2022) a horror-comedy about two bumbling ghostbusters who team up with a spirit to take on a vengeful ghost, starring Ishaan Khattar, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Katrina Kaif.
