Maheswari was born in Tamil Nadu, India. She was formerly an actress who mainly acted in Telugu and Tamil movies. From 1994 to 2000, she was a prominent actress in Tamil and Telugu films. Major South Indian celebrities including Jagapati Babu, J. D. Chakravarthy, Ravi Teja, Ajith Kumar, Vikram, Prabhu, Arjun Sarja, Prabhu Deva, and Shiva Rajkumar shared the screen with her. Her roles in Pelli (1997), Gulabi (1995), Karuththamma (1994), and Ullaasam (1997) are her most well-known credits.
In 2008, Maheshwari wed Jayakrishna, an engineer. It was an arranged marriage between them. Her spouse is a Hyderabad-based Telugu who is originally from Guntur. He is the managing director and owner of a Hyderabad-based provider of payment software At the age of seventeen, Maheswari began her film career in 1994 with the release of the box office hit Tamil film Karuththamma, directed by Bharathiraja.
The song “Thenmerku Paruva Kaatru” helped to establish her popularity among the Tamil audience. With the release of Gulabi, her second Telugu movie, in 1995, she rose to fame in the language. She portrayed Pooja, the lead role, opposite J. D. Chakravarthy. She then received numerous offers to star in films.
The 1995 Kannada film Annavra Makkalu was Maheswari’s debut feature.
In 1996, she worked on Ram Gopal Varma’s production and direction of her first horror movie, Deyyam. She played Mahi, Sindhu’s sister who purchased a new, estranged home close to the cemetery. She reunited with actor J. D. Chakravarthy for this film, as well as for the Telugu crime film Mrugam from 1996. She costarred with Vadde Naveen in the Kodi Ramakrishna film Pelli (1997).
She also acted in the Telugu movies Nesam, Jabilamma Pelli, and Priyaragalu. In 1999, she portrayed the lead character in the multiplely award-winning movie Nee Kosam. Maheswari won the Nandi Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of the affluent Sasirekha. In 1997, she gained notoriety through the Tamil film Ullasam.
Maheswari directed a few more Tamil and Telugu movies, such as Maa Balaji, which was a Malayalam comedy film adapted from Punjabi House. Maheswari performed elegantly and was a Telugu and Tamil film industry heroine for nearly a decade At the height of her career, in 2000, she left the film industry after making an appearance in Tirumala Tirupati Venkatesa. In 2008, she wed Jayakrishna, a Tirupati-based software engineer.
After getting married, she has since made appearances on television for serials. Maheswari made an appearance in the Soundaravalli serial in 2010. Later, in 2012, she made an appearance in the hilarious Zee TV comedy series “My Name is Manga Tayaru” (Telugu) and “My Name Is Mangamma” (Tamil), which became an enormous hit with families. In 2014, she made an appearance in the Jaya TV serial Adhey Kangal.
She recently launched her new label, “Mahe Ayyapan,” and opened a store in Hyderabad, where her aunt Sridevi officially opened it. She is currently pursuing an alternate career as a fashion designer.
