Srinivas Murthy Born on May 15, 1949, Srinivasa Murthy, or simply Srinivasa Murthy, is an Indian actor and director of television. His most well-known accomplishment is as a filmmaker. Since 2001, he has produced numerous Kannada television shows that are both adaptations of well-known Kannada writers’ works and biographies of prominent Kannada philosophers and poets. He is well-known as an actor from his work in Kannada films, where he frequently plays supporting parts. Before turning to movies in 1977, he started out as a stage actor in both professional and amateur theater.
At a very young age, Srinivasa Murthy started producing Kannada movies. Together with his friend Jai Jagadish, he began his filmmaking career.
He produced movies such as Maathru Devo Bhava and Thaayigobba Tharlemaga, a comedy starring Kashinath and Chandrika, a Kannada actress. Next was Umesh’s Nambidare Nambi Bittare Bidi, which featured Shruthi and Hosamane Aliya alongside Anant Nag and Bhavya. After that, he turned to directing with the critically acclaimed children’s film Devara Makkalu. Additionally, it received a Best Children’s Film award from the Karnataka State government.
On May 15, 1949, in the village of Jadalathimmanahalli, in the Kolar district of the former Mysore State (in the current Chikkaballapura district of Karnataka), Srinivasa Murthy was born to Krishnappa and Nagamma. Prior to making his screen debut in 1977 with Hemavathi, Murthy worked for the Karnataka government in the Survey Department.
