Mohan Gandhi Reddy and directed by S. V. Krishna Reddy. The cast includes Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Srikanth, Seema, and Ravi Teja, with music composed by S. V. Krishna Reddy.
The story revolves around Vamsi (Srikanth), a middle-class bank employee with a dysfunctional family. His family members include a drunken father (Kota Srinivasa Rao), a strict and quarrelsome mother (Y. Vijaya), a gambling-addicted brother (Maharshi Raghava), a selfish sister (Rajitha), and a lazy brother-in-law (Brahmanandam). The only person who showers affection on Vamsi is his sister-in-law Vani (Suhasini), whom he reveres like a mother.
Vamsi is initially determined not to get married, given his family’s chaotic state. However, he falls in love with Vasanti (Seema) and, upon her request, decides to seek approval from her grandfather, Janaki Ramaiah (Akkineni Nageswara Rao), who is a respected figure in their village.
Vamsi, along with his close friend Ravi (Ravi Teja), visits Janaki Ramaiah and explains his family’s situation. Janaki Ramaiah begins to recount the past, revealing that he had arranged a prosperous marriage for his daughter (Priya) that ended tragically, leading to her death. In light of this, Janaki Ramaiah insists that Vasanti be placed in an ideal family.
Learning of this condition, Vamsi hatches a plan to present his family as the epitome of perfection in order to win Janaki Ramaiah’s approval. He tempts his family members with money and orchestrates a charade in which they pretend to be the perfect family for a month.
Janaki Ramaiah arrives to observe the family, and during this time, genuine bonds of love and affection develop. Ultimately, he grants his approval for Vamsi and Vasanti’s marriage and begins making wedding arrangements.
However, Vamsi, unable to bear the deception, approaches Janaki Ramaiah and reveals the truth. To everyone’s surprise, Janaki Ramaiah confesses that he had known the truth from the beginning. At the behest of Vani, he had stayed back to help reform the family.
In the end, Vamsi’s family members also repent for their actions and plead with Vamsi to accept Vasanti’s hand in marriage. The film concludes on a joyful note with the wedding of Vamsi and Vasanti.
