Biography:

Nitish Veera was a highly regarded Indian actor who made significant contributions to Tamil-language cinema, leaving an enduring impact on the industry. His career showcased versatility as he undertook various roles, from smaller parts in films like Pudhupettai (2006) and Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu (2009) to more substantial characters that earned him recognition.

A pivotal turning point in Veera’s career occurred when he connected with director Pa. Ranjith, who entrusted him with the crucial role of Kathiravan, the son of Rajinikanth and Eashwari Rao’s characters in Kaala (2018). Veera dedicated 40 days to the project, displaying his commitment to his craft and the industry. His compelling performance in Asuran (2019), portraying a character rooted in the 1960s, further solidified his standing in the film fraternity.

Veera’s promising trajectory included a pivotal role in the film Laabam, and the post-production phase of his upcoming project, Bell, was underway with a slated release from late 2021 to early 2022. Tragically, Veera’s life was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic on 17 May 2021, marking the end of a career that held immense potential. In response to his untimely demise, filmmakers had to make adjustments, bringing in Sridhar to reprise Veera’s role in Bell and modifying the storyline accordingly.
