Akshaye Khanna, born on March 28, 1975, is an Indian actor known for his work in Hindi films. Born to the renowned actor and politician Vinod Khanna and Geetanjali Taleyarkhan, Akshaye has received several accolades, including two Filmfare Awards.
Growing up, Akshaye attended Bombay International School, Babulnath, and completed his 11th and 12th grades at Lawrence School, Lovedale, Ooty. Despite admitting to being better at sports than studies, he ventured into acting, making his debut in 1997 with “Himalay Putra,” a romantic drama featuring his father.
Akshaye gained widespread recognition with his second release, J. P. Dutta’s war drama “Border” (1997), portraying the real-life character Dharamvir Singh Bhan during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. The film was a critical and commercial success, earning him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut.
Subsequent years saw Akshaye in a variety of successful films, including the romantic drama “Taal” (1999), the iconic coming-of-age film “Dil Chahta Hai” (2001), and the romantic thriller “Humraaz” (2002). His versatility shone in comedies like “Hungama” (2003) and “Hulchul” (2004), and he continued to impress with roles in films like “Gandhi, My Father” (2007) and “Aakrosh” (2010).

In his personal life, Akshaye Khanna is the younger brother of actor Rahul Khanna. His father, Vinod Khanna, passed away in 2017, and his mother, born into a Parsi family of lawyers and businessmen, passed away in 2018.
