Drishyam 2

Story:

“Drishyam 2” is a Hindi-language crime thriller directed by Abhishek Pathak, produced by Panorama Studios, T-Series Films, and Viacom18 Studios. It is a remake of the 2021 Malayalam film of the same name and a sequel to the 2015 film “Drishyam.”

The movie stars Ajay Devgn, Akshaye Khanna, Tabu, and Shriya Saran, with a supporting cast that includes Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav, Rajat Kapoor, and Kamlesh Sawant. The film’s music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad and lyrics are written by Amitabh Bhattacharya.

The plot takes place seven years after facing traumatic events, the Salgaonkars have moved on with life. However, unforeseen circumstances threaten to bring dark truths to light.

The remake began soon after the release of the original film in February 2021. All actors from the predecessor reprised their roles, with Akshaye Khanna joining the cast as a new addition. Principal photography took place from February to June 2022, primarily in Goa, with additional filming in Mumbai and Hyderabad.

“Drishyam 2” was released on 18 November 2022 and received positive reviews, with critical acclaim for its performances, writing, cinematography, and editing.

The film grossed ₹100 crore worldwide within four days and entered the 100 Crore Club in India within six days of its release. With a total worldwide gross of ₹345 crore, “Drishyam 2” became a major financial success, ranking as the second highest-grossing Hindi film of 2022 and the 24th highest-grossing Hindi film of all time.
