Vinayagar Sundar Vel, professionally known as Sundar C., is a multi-talented figure in the Indian film industry, recognized as a director, actor, and producer. With an extensive career spanning several decades, he has made significant contributions to Tamil cinema.

As a director, Sundar C. boasts an impressive filmography, having directed over 34 films in the Tamil language. His early directorial work includes movies like “Ullathai Allitha” (1996), “Arunachalam” (1997), “Unnai Thedi” (1999), and “Anbe Sivam” (2003). His directorial prowess also shines through in films like “Winner” (2003), “Giri” (2004), “Kalakalappu” (2012), “Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru” (2013), “Aranmanai” (2014), “Aambala” (2015), and “Kalakalappu 2” (2018). Notably, Sundar C. is one of the select few directors who have had the privilege of directing two legendary actors, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, in “Arunachalam” (1997) and “Anbe Sivam” (2003) respectively.

Sundar C. briefly shifted his focus from directing to acting, making his debut as a lead actor in the commercially successful film “Thalai Nagaram” in 2006. However, he returned to his directorial roots in 2012 with the hit comedy film “Kalakalappu.” This marked a successful comeback, and he continued to deliver hits, including the “Aranmanai” film series in 2014.

In addition to his work in cinema, Sundar C. expanded his horizons by producing the TV series “Nandini” (2017-2018) alongside his wife, actress Khushbu.
