Biography:

Soundarya Rajinikanth, daughter of Rajinikanth, transitioned from a graphic designer to film producer and director. Starting with title sequences for her father’s films, she produced “Goa” in 2010 and made her directorial debut with “Kochadaiyaan” in 2014.

Soundarya Rajinikanth, a woman of many talents, began her journey in Chennai. From graphic designer to film producer and director, her career has blossomed with innovation.

Initially designing title sequences for her father’s films, she later ventured into production and animation. Although her planned animated film “Sultan: The Warrior” was shelved, she rose to prominence with “Kochadaiiyaan,” India’s first motion-capture film starring Rajinikanth. This groundbreaking project earned her accolades for technical innovation and made her the first woman to direct her father in a feature film.

Undeterred by the dropped “Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam,” Soundarya directed the successful bilingual film “Velaiilla Pattadhari 2” and founded May 6 Entertainment in 2019. Her latest venture, Hoote, a social media platform based on voice messages, further showcases her creativity and desire to push boundaries.

Soundarya, the daughter of renowned actor Rajinikanth and Latha, has one elder sister, Aishwarya. Her first marriage was to industrialist Ashwin Ramkumar in 2010, with whom she had a son born in 2015. However, the couple divorced in 2017. In 2019, Soundarya married actor and businessman Vishagan Vanangamudi, and they welcomed a son together in 2022.
