Stephanie Hsu

Biography:

Hsu was born in Torrance, California, to a single mother. Her maternal grandmother fled the Chinese Civil War by relocating to Taiwan from Mainland China. In search of a better education, Hsu’s mother relocated to the United States when she was a teenager. Hsu went to the Peninsula High School in Palos Verdes.  She relocated to Brooklyn to study theater, and in 2012 she received her degree from NYU Tisch School of the Arts.  The Atlantic Theater Company also provided her with training.

Before becoming a Broadway star, Hsu educated at NYU Tisch School of the Arts and started her career in experimental theater. She created the parts of Karen the Computer in SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical (2016–2017) and Christine Canigula in Be More Chill (2015–2019). She starred in recurrent episodes of the Amazon Prime series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (2019–2023) and the Hulu series The Path (2016–2018).
