Biography:

Early Life:

Indian actor Sanjay Balraj Dutt, who mostly performs in Hindi films, was born on July 29, 1959.As one of the most well-known Hindi film actors since the 1980s, Dutt has amassed numerous awards and appeared in more than 100 films over the course of a career spanning more than four decades. His roles have ranged from romance to comedy, but have typically been in action genres.

Film Career:

He belongs to the Dutt family; his parents are the actors Sunil Dutt and Nargis. With Rocky (1981), Dutt made his acting debut. With the exception of the criminal thriller Naam (1986), a turning point in his career, a dip in his career ensued. With films like Saajan (1991), Sadak (1991), Khalnayak (1993), Aatish (1994), Andolan (1995), Daag (1999), Haseena Maan Jaayegi (1999), Vaastav: The Reality (1999), and Mission Kashmir (2000), he went on to establish himself as a prolific performer. He received the Filmfare Award for Best Actor in 1999 for his widely praised work in Vaastav.

Dutt’s most famous part and biggest single economic success came from his portrayal of Munna Bhai in the Munna Bhai series (2003–2006), which received global acclaim. He has appeared in a number of well-known films since the year 2000, including Jodi No. 1 (2001), Munna Bhai MBBS (2003), Parineeta (2005), Dus (2005), Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006), Shootout at Lokhandwala (2007), Dhamaal (2007), All the Best (2009), Double Dhamaal (2011), Agneepath (2012), Son of Sardaar (2012), and PK (2014). With the exception of the third highest-grossing Indian film in Kannada, K.G.F: Chapter 2 (2022), in which he portrayed the lead antagonist, this was followed by another significant career collapse.

In its ranking of the top 100 highest-grossing films of all time published in January 2008, the Indian film institute Filmfare included 12 films starring Sanjay Dutt. In their “100 years of Indian cinema” issue from May 2013, Filmfare included Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Khalnayak, and Saajan among the top 20 highest-grossing Hindi films of all time. These three films also starred Sanjay Dutt.

Personal life:

Dutt dated Tina Munim, his co-star from his debut movie, in the early 1980s. Following the breakup of this union, Dutt wed the actress Richa Sharma in 1987. In 1996, a brain tumour claimed her life. Trishala Dutt, the couple’s 1988-born daughter, resides in the US with her paternal grandparents.

On February 14, 1998, Dutt married model-turned-air hostess Rhea Pillai in his second marriage. 2008 confirmed the divorce’s completion. After two years of courting, Dutt got married Manyata (born Dilnawaz Sheikh), first in a Hindu ceremony in Goa in 2008 and subsequently in Mumbai.He gave birth to boy and girl twins on October 21, 2010.

Health issues:

In August 2020, Dutt received a stage 3 lung cancer diagnosis. He received treatment in Mumbai and is now lung cancer-free.
