Whalefall

Story:

Brian Duffield is the director and producer of the upcoming American survival thriller Whalefall, which is based on Daniel Kraus’ 2023 novel. Kraus and Duffield co-wrote the screenplay. The movie centers on Austin Abrams, a scuba diver who, while looking for his father’s (Josh Brolin) remains, is swallowed alive by a whale and tries to flee. In supporting roles are Elisabeth Shue, Emily Rudd, John Ortiz, and Jane Levy. 20th Century Studios plans to release Whalefall in theaters in the US on October 16, 2026. A sperm whale swallows a scuba diver looking for his father’s remains in the ocean, giving him an hour to figure out how to get out.
