Tomasz “Tomek” Bagiński is a Polish illustrator, animator, producer, and director who was born in Bałystok on January 10, 1976. He pronounces his name. He was an independent art student. Bagiński studied architecture at Warsaw University of Technology.His first film, Rain, won several regional awards and was his introduction to Platige Image, where he is now creative director. From 1999 until 2002, he worked on The Cathedral, his debut short film. It was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film the following year after winning first place at SIGGRAPH, the biggest animation and special effects festival. Trapanese, who grew up in Jersey City, New Jersey, went to Dr. Ronald E. McNair Academic High School and then the Manhattan School of Music.
