Story:

Ilayaraja Kaliyaperumal is the writer and director of the 2025 Indian Tamil action thriller Ten Hours, which is produced by Latha Balu and Durgaini Vinoth under the Duvin Studios banner. In addition to Gajaraj, Dileepan, Jeeva Ravi, Saravana Subbiah, Raj Ayyappa, Aadukalam Murugadoss, THR Raaga Uthaya, and others in supporting parts, the film’s main star is Sibi Sathyaraj. On April 18, 2025, Ten Hours was released in theaters.

Despite opposition from the station’s own staff, Castro, a forthright Sub-Inspector at Mattuthavani Police Station, took up the case of a missing girl who had been brutally raped and murdered in 2015. The powerful inspector of the police station, who tried to buy his way out of punishment, turned out to be the culprit. Castro killed the inspector for his horrible crime because he would not allow justice to be corrupted. Years later, on the day of a by-election, Castro, who is now an Inspector at the Aathur Police Station, receives a complaint of a missing girl close to Thendral Nagar.

Castro concludes during the inquiry that Sowmya was abducted in a planned manner. After killing three police officers, he warns the checkpoints, but the kidnappers escape. After arriving at the scene, Castro determines the color of the automobile and starts to pursue the abductors. Castro finds out that Sowmya’s body has been moved to another car after apprehending them. Castro is taunted by the main kidnapper over the phone, who says he can avoid capture. A man reports that a girl is being tortured on a bus from Koyambedu to Coimbatore to the police control room that same evening. Castro finds a dead body, Jeeva, inside the bus when he follows it to the Kallakurichi tollgate. The girl is nowhere to be seen.

Castro detains every traveler and launches an investigation. Divya, Jeeva’s girlfriend, accuses Maari, the bus attendant, of killing Jeeva after SI Mani discloses that Jeeva was the one who placed the distress call. In her account of the bus’s departure from Koyambedu, Maari notes that Janani Narayanan did not board at Ashok Nagar, the initial pickup location, and that Raju and Vinoth, two other passengers, hurriedly boarded in his place.

Jeeva and Maari get into a quarrel after Maari chastises a pregnant woman for throwing up. Dr. Daisy Rose is introduced after more research, and she gets on the bus at the Maraimalai Nagar pickup location. She gives Maari medication during their altercation, and she later expresses regret to Jeeva for his worries about the expectant mother. Castro is informed by Divya that she sat beside the expectant mother in order to comfort her. Along with sharing her past with Jeeva, she explains how they eloped when she was coerced into marrying someone else. At the police station, Divya tells the officers that her brother Jegan’s buddy Kesavan may have been involved in Jeeva’s death.

The knife used to murder Jeeva had the same fingerprints as Guru, who admits to being thrashed by Jeeva and caught filming women in a bakery restroom. Guru says Jeeva was already dead when he tried to injure him, thus he denies killing him. Kasi and Sethu, two suspects who pretended to be Raju and Vinoth, confess to being paid to kill Jeeva and that Kesavan is the one who hired them to do it. Castro captures Kesavan after Jegan and Divya’s father try to save him. But a member of the human rights commission steps in and denounces Castro’s forceful investigative techniques.

Jeeva’s body, meanwhile, disappears during the autopsy but is later found in a storage room on the same property. According to the doctor, Jeeva was drunk when she was slain, and the body was concealed to postpone the investigation. Jeeva’s wristwatch, another piece of proof, disappears. Sub-Inspector Karan alerts Castro of the kidnapping of a girl, and Castro repels the thugs. Journalist Janani Narayanan, who was meant to catch the bus at Ashok Nagar but failed to do so, is identified as the kidnapped girl. She’s still alive.

Castro verifies that Janani Narayanan did not board the bus by contacting the Ashok Nagar police station. He locates another suspect, Jothi, an Iympon Travels driver who is being watched. Castro informs SI Mani of his discoveries and names the murderer as Velu, the bus driver. He discloses that there was a 30-minute lag between two identical buses with the same registration number. Castro recounts how Velu killed Jeeva with a screwdriver from the toolkit after putting sleeping tablets in his water. A discrepancy between the investigative images and the selfie Velu took with a fellow traveler further supports his guilt.

Velu admits during questioning that the vehicle was used to smuggle commodities and that they utilized identically registered buses. After seeing the smuggling, Janani Narayanan, who got on the first bus at Ashok Nagar, was murdered and beaten. Velu drunkened him after Jeeva, who was on the second bus, saw the crime and told the police. The cleaner from the first bus, Babu, then assisted Velu in killing Jeeva.

Janani was dumped by the first bus’s crew close to the Kallakurichi underground, which Castro had already retrieved. The bus owner planned for a prisoner to shoot Velu before he could divulge further details about the contraband. Before they could be apprehended, the first bus’s crew and the illegal cargo were destroyed. Castro learns that Meikappan, the proprietor of Iympon Travels, is the mastermind behind the killings and smuggling, having planned the crimes to win the by-election.

Meikappan had abducted and then murdered the MLA in order to call for a by-election. In order to win the poll, he abducted Sowmya and threatened her father, the election officer, with a phony ballot box filled with pre-cast votes in his favor. The film ends with Castro encounter-killing Meikappan once the truth is revealed.
