Biography:

Jeeva Ravi is an Indian actor, television actor, and casting director, primarily active in the Tamil-language film and television industry. He gained recognition for his roles in notable films like “3” (2012) and “Jeeva” (2014), which also inspired the addition of “Jeeva” as a prefix to his stage name.

Hailing from a film-oriented background, Jeeva Ravi is the grandson of G. M. Velumani, a film producer known for his works in the 1950s and 1960s. Initially, Ravi commenced his career as a casting director before transitioning into acting roles, particularly in serials aired on STAR Vijay and Sun TV. With time, he made a seamless shift to the big screen and made his significant breakthrough by portraying Shruti Haasan’s father in Aishwarya Dhanush’s drama “3” (2012). This marked the start of his journey into more prominent film roles.

His career trajectory continued to ascend as he secured substantial parts in subsequent projects. He gained considerable acclaim for his portrayal of a cricket coach in Suseenthiran’s “Jeeva” (2014). The success of this film led him to incorporate “Jeeva” into his stage name, reflecting the influence of this milestone. Jeeva Ravi continued to play pivotal roles in subsequent films, such as portraying a collector in AR Murugadoss’s “Kaththi” (2014) and a commissioner in “Kaaki Sattai” (2015).

Among his notable achievements, he also starred in “Miruthan” (2016), a film directed by Shakti Soundar Rajan. Throughout his journey, Jeeva Ravi has demonstrated versatility and garnered recognition for his impactful performances across both television and film mediums.
