Story:

Romeo Juliet is a modern-day Telugu romantic comedy that completely reverses the Shakespearean formula to match the realities of Gen-Z modern romance. Marketed by the producers as “not a love story,” the movie captures the lives of today’s young people in urban spaces dealing with love in the context of the present-day Telugu States. It serves as a humorous and satirical “biopic” of modern heartbreaks and explores how romance has been replaced by swipes, instant messages, and most importantly the fear of being left “on read.”
The visual style of the movie revolves around the role of social media in romantic relations as it reflects the extent to which social media validation and virality have come to define modern love.
