TheatreAnushka Shetty stars in the Telugu-language fantasy film Panchakshari, which was released On June 11, 2010, V. Samudra, the film’s director, released it. It is dubbed Vaishnavi in Hindi, Panchamukhi in Tamil, and the same name in Kannada.
In a small rural village, Udayshankar Verma and his expectant wife Parvati give birth to a baby girl close to a temple dedicated to Goddess Durga. The child is named Panchakshari by the priest. She was born on a day and hour that the goddess Durga considered auspicious, so her villager community views her as a divine figure.
The villagers hold her in high regard as she grows older, and she later marries Sriram, also known as Rajesh Sharma, an orphan. After some time, the couple names their new born daughter Reshmi. Goddess Durga takes possession of Panchakshari during the sacred Bonalu festival, and she foretells Panchakshari’s impending death.
The prophecy comes true when fire instantly envelops Panchakshari, destroying the villagers and knocking Reshmi out. While in the city, Sriram meets Honey, a wealthy family’s ultramodern city girl who looks just like Panchakshri. Honey becomes displeased with him because he follows her around and records her movements on video.
But when Sriram tells her about Panchakshari, she realizes the reality behind his act. Sriram brings Reshmi some Honey in an attempt to help her regain consciousness. When Honey goes to the village, she finds that Panchakshari and her are, in fact, cousins.
Subsequently, it is disclosed that Panchakshari’s murder served to shut down the temple and discourage people from visiting in order to carry out the villain’s scheme to extract the treasure.
The Temple where Panchakshari died is where honey is donated. Panchakshari takes possession of Honey, paralyzing the villain’s wife and frightening the diggers away. With the assistance of a malevolent tantric sadhu, the villain’s group attempts but is unable to extricate Panchakshari’s spirit from Honey’s body.
The villagers, who beseech Goddess Durga to rescue them, are also terrified by them.
Finally, Panchakshari is visited by the Goddess Herself, who then murders the antagonist. In a rush, the villagers come here to receive the Great Goddess’ blessings. She departs Panchakshari’s body after bestowing blessings on everyone. Subsequently, Honey’s soul attains tranquility as Panchakshari leaves her body.
