Naane Varuvean

Story:

The 2022 Indian Tamil-language horror thriller Naane Varuvean  is helmed by Selvaraghavan and produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu under the banner of V Creations. In addition to Indhuja Ravichandran, Elli AvrRam, Prabhu, Yogi Babu, and Dhanush, who plays both the hero and the villain in the movie, Selvaraghavan also makes a brief appearance.

Plot

Although Prabhu and Kathir are identical twins, Kathir has always been a problem and Prabhu is an innocent man. Their father binds Kathir to a tree in the backyard after she beats up the neighbor’s child. Overnight, Kathir vanishes, ostensibly abducted by an unidentified crazy individual.

After killing him, Kathir goes back to his house and carries on with his strange behavior. After killing Prabhu’s father, Kathir imprisons him in a wooden box. Instead of reporting him to the police, Kathir’s mother turns to a local saint for assistance.

The saint informs her that in order to preserve one of the twins, they must be split apart because they cannot coexist. Their mother abandons Kathir in a shrine out of frustration and runs away with Prabhu.

Years later, Prabhu is a contented husband and father who has a daughter named Sathya and a loving wife named Bhuvana. When Sathya is twelve years old, she begins to exhibit symptoms of schizophrenia. She often loses sleep after starting a conversation with an unknown individual.

Prabhu sets up a baby monitor in his daughter’s room when he hears her talking to herself in the middle of the night. She destroys the monitor and tosses it across the room, claiming that she was threatened with death by an unidentified someone if she didn’t smash the screen.

Fearful of what has been happening lately, Prabhu brings his daughter to see a psychiatrist. Sathya discloses that Sonu, a little child who frequently converses with her, is the unknown individual.

Sathya is still certain that Sonu is genuine even though Prabhu and the psychiatrist deny his existence. Prabhu hires a bunch of teenage ghostbusters he found on YouTube based on his own investigation. In order to keep an eye on the paranormal activity occurring in Sathya’s room, the technical team installs technical equipment. The squad discovers tracks in the middle of the night.They hear Sathya’s voice once more through the barred door.

Prabhu tries to open the door, terrified and scared for Sathya’s life, but Sathya starts talking in Marathi as the door unlocks on its own. The team assists Prabhu in deciphering and translating Sathya’s messages. Sathya, taken over by Sonu’s voice, divulges that Prabhu needs to confront Kathir and stop his crimes, which are what killed Sonu.

The psychiatric professional advises Prabhu to grant Sonu’s spirit’s desires. It is revealed that Kathir, who was abused by people while trying to find work after being abandoned by his mother and Prabhu, struggled. Kathir killed them all because he was unable to quench his need for blood.

Kathir eventually met the silent Madhuri, the love of his life. After getting hitched, they move into a secluded home in the bush with their twins, Manu and Sonu. To record his father’s hunt, Sonu once sneaked into his father’s jeep and followed him about. On the other hand, he sees his father murdering several tourists.

It remains unclear if Kathir is still alive or if she has taken possession of Prabhu. The screen goes black when Prabhu opens his eyes abruptly.
