Plot
Sathya, a timid comic book artist, creates the Maaveeran comic strip for the Tamil newspaper Dhina Thee. Despite his talent, he lacks courage and allows a colleague to take credit for his work. His life takes a turn when Nila, a sub-editor, stands up for him, leading to both developing feelings for each other.
Forced to relocate from their slum to a government-allocated high-rise, Sathya and his family—his mother Eshwari and sister Raji—soon discover the building’s dangerous flaws due to poor construction. When contractor Dhanraj assaults Raji and Eshwari for questioning the quality of the apartments, Sathya attempts to confront him but is humiliated. Overwhelmed by his own cowardice, he tries to end his life but survives a fall, sustaining a head injury. Upon waking, he begins hearing a mysterious voice, akin to the Maaveeran narrator, guiding him to take a stand against corrupt Housing Minister Jeyakodi.
Encouraged by the voice, Sathya exposes the apartment’s poor construction, earning the residents’ admiration. However, Jeyakodi’s secretary, Paramu, manipulates the situation, forcing Sathya to deny the truth on live television, leading to his public disgrace. Branded as mentally unstable and abandoned by his community, Sathya is left homeless along with his family. Feeling guilty, he resolves to fight back on his own terms, but Jeyakodi retaliates by kidnapping him. In a final act of defiance, Sathya warns the residents of an imminent collapse, just as the unstable building begins to crumble. Jeyakodi, mocking Sathya’s warnings, is crushed by the falling apartment sign, while Sathya manages to save a young girl named Ilavarasi before being trapped in the wreckage himself.
Two years later, a new government rebuilds the apartment properly, and the residents return. Sathya, miraculously surviving the collapse, resumes his work at Dhina Thee, though he is left permanently deaf. However, his reflexes have become sharper, and the enigmatic voice that once guided him seems to have returned, hinting at a new chapter in his journey.
