TheatreB. V. Ramana is the director of the 2004 Indian Telugu-language action film Gowri.Producer Sravanthi Ravi Kishore, it stars Sumanth and Charmme Kaur in the major parts. Thirumalai, a 2003 Tamil film starring Vijay and Jyothika, is being remade. It was well-received by critics and a box office success. Later, the movie was remade into Hindi and released as The Gunda.
Gowri, a motorbike mechanic from Dhoolpet, Hyderabad, is an orphan. Shweta is the daughter of Chandra Shekhar, a media mogul. To Chandra Shekhar’s dismay, Gowri and Shweta fall in love, and he enlists the aid of mafia boss Sarkar to keep them apart. In the end, Gowri defeats Sarkar and wins Chandra Shekhar over to his way of thinking.
