Story:

A 3D biographical action film in Telugu, Rudramadevi (2015) is based on the life of Rudrama Devi, one of the notable Deccan monarchs of the Kakatiya dynasty and one of the rare governing queens in Indian history. Anushka Shetty plays Rudramadevi in the Gunasekhar-penned and -directed movie. Other cast members include Allu Arjun, Rana Daggubati, Vikramjeet Virk, Krishnam Raju, Prakash Raj, Suman, Nithya Menen, Adithya, and Catherine Tresa. Chiranjeevi narrates the movie. Ilaiyaraaja wrote the background score and soundtrack for the movie.

On October 9, 2015, Rudhramadevi was released globally, featuring Hindi and Malayalam dubbing. Sri Thenandal Films released the Tamil version on October 16. As of 2015, the movie is now the fifth-highest grossing Indian opening day movie. It made ₹32 crore in its first weekend of release worldwide.

The Kakatiya dynasty’s ruler, Ganapatideva (also known as Krishna Raju), ruled the Kakatiya Empire from Orugallu, the capital city of Telangana (now known as Warangal). The rule of Ganapati is only threatened by two factors. The dukes of Kakatiya, Murari Devudu (Adithya Menon) and Hari Hara Devudu (Suman), are clearly unhappy with Ganapati’s rule and scheme to steal the throne. The Devagiri Empire’s Emperor Singhana also desires to subjugate the Kakatiyas and establish his grandson and heir, Mahadeva, as their ruler. Ganapati’s wife is pregnant in the interim. Everyone hopes for a boy child since the Devagiri Empire can be repelled by a prince.
