Fukrey

Story:

Fukrey is a Hindi-language comedy thriller film directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, and starring Pulkit Samrat, Manjot Singh, Varun Sharma, Ali Fazal, Priya Anand, Vishakha Singh, Pankaj Tripathi, and Richa Chadda. The story and dialogues are written by Vipul Vig, with the screenplay co-written by Vig and Lamba. Produced under the Excel Entertainment banner, the film was released on 14 June 2013. The soundtrack of “Fukrey” is composed by Ram Sampath, with lyrics by Vipul Vig, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, and Munna Dhiman.

The plot revolves around four friends—Hunny, Choocha, Lali, and Zafar—who devise a scheme to make easy money and seek investment from the notorious Bholi. When their plan fails and they lose her money, they must quickly come up with an alternative or face serious consequences.

The film released on 14 June 2013. Despite a slow start at the box office, “Fukrey” eventually became a sleeper hit and the first installment in the Fukrey franchise. The film is available on streaming platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney+ Hotstar.

Interestingly, “Fukrey” is the only Excel Entertainment film not owned by Zee Entertainment Enterprises, as the rights to three other films—namely, “Game,” “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara,” and “Talaash: The Answer Lies Within”—were acquired by the network from Star India and Sony Pictures Networks India, respectively.
