Biography:

Filmmaker Singh Lamba rose to fame with the 2013 movie “Fukrey,” which starred him. The movie was a sleeper smash, and because of its box office success, its producers planned to make a sequel, which may debut in 2016. The sequel’s filming will probably start in Delhi in August 2016. However, it is impossible to tell if the sequel will be released or not. ‘Fukrey’ was a movie that Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani produced. Mrighdeep wrote the screenplay for the movie along with Vipul Vig, who wrote the story. Due to its sarcastic theme, the picture, which was entirely comedic, gained popularity with viewers gradually.

Following the commercial success of “Fukrey,” Mrighdeep was working on two or three other projects, each of which was set to be a serious comedy movie. The director believed he could even try to make a humorous movie. All of those narratives were still in their conceptual infancy, and Farhan Akhtar Excel Entertainment was going to be the film’s producer. However, nobody is aware of the outcome of such preparation at this point. Irrfan Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui starred in the key parts of Mrighdeep Singh’s critically acclaimed film The Lunchbox, which was also released in the same year.

The movie was well-received by critics and even took home the Cannes Film Festival’s Critics Week Viewers Choice Award. According to reports, the entire group rehearsed for six months before appearing in front of the camera, and the video was produced in a documentary style. The Arri Alexa digital camera was used to capture the entire film. The director has always been interested in experimenting with various genres, and he even prefers to work on low-budget movies.

According to the filmmaker, stories and characters should speak for themselves and move the plot along so that viewers are genuinely interested in the picture. Films, he believes, speak a global language. He like to make unconventional movies on a tight budget. In 2011, he made his directorial debut with the movie “Teen Thay Bhai.”
