Story:

“Devara – I, is an eagerly awaited Indian Telugu-language action-drama film, skillfully written and directed by Koratala Siva. This cinematic endeavor is brought to life through the collaborative efforts of producers Sudhakar Mikkilineni and Kosaraju Harikrishna, operating under the banners Yuvasudha Arts and N. T. R. Arts. The film boasts a stellar cast, featuring N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles, with the exceptionally talented Saif Ali Khan taking on the role of the main antagonist. Anirudh Ravichander, known for his musical prowess, is composing the film’s soundtrack, while the accomplished duo of R. Rathnavelu and A. Sreekar Prasad handles cinematography and editing, respectively. Renowned production designer Sabu Cyril, celebrated for his work on epic sets in films like the Baahubali duology and RRR, has been enlisted to create the film’s production design.

A noteworthy aspect of “Devara” is that it marks the Telugu cinema debut of Janhvi Kapoor. On October 4, 2023, the production team officially announced that the film would be presented in two parts, increasing the anticipation among fans.

The first part of “Devara” is slated for a worldwide release on October 10th, 2024, in five different languages. The journey to this highly anticipated release had its share of twists and turns. Initially, in February 2020, there were plans for N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and Trivikram Srinivas to collaborate on a film tentatively titled “NTR30.” However, this project was shelved in early 2021. Subsequently, in April 2021, it was revealed that Rama Rao and Koratala Siva would join forces for “NTR30,” with a tentative release date of October 10th, 2024. Nevertheless, due to the filming and post-production of “RRR,” this project faced delays.

The final team for “Devara” was unveiled in May 2022, with Anirudh Ravichander composing the music, and R. Rathnavelu and A. Sreekar Prasad handling cinematography and editing, respectively. Despite this, production commencement was further postponed. In December 2022, it was announced that filming would commence in February 2023, with a targeted release date of October 10th, 2024. In February 2023, Rama Rao confirmed the film’s launch and production start in mid-March. In March 2023, Janhvi Kapoor was announced as the female lead. The film’s official launch took place on March 23, 2023, due to the Oscars campaign for “RRR,” and in April 2023, Saif Ali Khan joined the cast. The film was officially titled “Devara” in May 2023, and in June 2023, Shine Tom Chacko was added to the cast.

Principal photography for the film commenced in late March 2023 in Hyderabad, with a schedule wrapped up in June 2023, featuring an intense low-light action sequence. The film’s soundtrack and background score are being masterfully crafted by Anirudh Ravichander, marking his fourth Telugu project.

“Devara – I” is scheduled for a grand theatrical release on October 10th, 2024, in multiple languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. The announcement on October 4, 2023, confirmed that “Devara” will be a two-part cinematic experience, with the first installment set to enthrall audiences on the scheduled date of October 10th, 2024. Director Koratala Siva shared the exciting news in videos released by Yuvasudha Arts, emphasizing the film’s grand scale and the need for extended runtime.
