TheatreAlludu Seenu, a 2014 Telugu-language action comedy directed by V. V. Vinayak and produced by Bellamkonda Suresh, marked the debut of his son Bellamkonda Sreenivas. Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Pradeep Rawat, and Brahmanandam played lead roles, with music by Devi Sri Prasad and cinematography by Chota K. Naidu and Gautham Raju.
The film commenced its principal photography at Annapoorna Studios in Hyderabad in October 2013 after being launched on 15 February 2013. Filming took place in Hyderabad and Alleppey, with song sequences shot in Japan, Dubai, and Italy. Action scenes at Gachibowli Aluminium Factory concluded the principal photography on June 14, 2014.
Released worldwide on July 25, 2014, Alludu Seenu received mixed reviews, praised for cast performances but criticized for its predictable narrative. Despite being labeled a “commercial entertainer,” it fell short at the box office, grossing under ₹39 crores globally. The film later had Hindi and Malayalam dubs as “Mard Ka Badla” (2019) and “Aliyan Sreeni,” respectively, and a Tamil version titled “Mappilai Seenu.”
The story revolves around Seenu and his uncle Narasimha, burdened by debt in their village. Their attempt to escape to Dubai goes awry when they end up in Hyderabad. Seenu, resembling a local don named Bhai, exploits the situation for financial gain and romance with Anjali, Bhai’s stepdaughter. The plot thickens when Bhai discovers the impersonation and learns of Narasimha’s existence.
As Bhai plans to eliminate the impersonators, the backstory unfolds. Narasimha reveals his identity and narrates the tragic events that led to his separation from his daughter Anjali. Seenu, now aware of the truth, strives to reunite Anjali with her real father. The narrative shifts to Sharjah, where Seenu orchestrates a plan involving Bhai’s captivity, Narasimha’s disguise, and revelations to Anjali.
The plan succeeds with Seenu, Narasimha and Anjali escaping to India. However, Bhai and Bhanu, Anjali’s intended groom, pursue them. In the final confrontation, Seenu defeats their men, bringing justice and clearing Narasimha’s name. The village, realizing Narasimha’s innocence, welcomes him back, concluding the film on a triumphant note.
