Surbhi Puranik

Surbhi Puranik, professionally known as Surbhi, is an Indian actress known for her work in Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada films. She was born on 5th June in Delhi. She pursued her education in Fine Arts at the College of Art in Delhi and later took up an acting course at Imago Acting School, where she was trained by Barry John and Manoj Bajpai. Before entering the film industry, she worked on various modeling assignments.

Surbhi made her film debut in 2013 with the Tamil movie “Ivan Veramathiri,” where she played a college student opposite Vikram Prabhu. Her performance in the film earned her critical acclaim, and she received nominations for the SIIMA Award for Best Female Debut – Tamil and the Vijay Award for Best Debut Actress.

In 2014, she appeared in the Tamil film “Velaiyilla Pattathari” alongside Dhanush, playing a cameo role as a chain smoker. The movie was a major success.

Surbhi made her Telugu debut in 2015 with the film “Beeruva,” where she starred opposite Sundeep Kishan. Although her performance received praise, some critics felt she could have improved in certain scenes.

In 2016, Surbhi had a busy year with four releases. She appeared in “Express Raja” alongside Sharwanand, which became a commercial success. She also starred in “Pugazh,” “Attack,” and “Gentleman,” with the latter being a commercial hit at the box office.

Her only release in 2017 was “Okka Kshanam,” where she played the lead opposite Allu Sirish.

In 2019, Surbhi starred opposite Vishnu Manchu in the film “Voter,” where her chemistry with the lead actor was appreciated.

In 2021, she appeared in two films. First, she played the titular role in “Sashi” opposite Aadi. While her on-screen presence was praised, some critics noted that she could have been more expressive. Surbhi also made her Kannada film debut with “Sakath,” where she portrayed an anchor alongside Ganesh, and her performance was described as charming.

Throughout her career, Surbhi has showcased her talent in various South Indian film industries and continues to make her mark as a versatile actress.
