Biography:

Suraj Jagan, born on 11 May 1967, is an acclaimed Indian playback singer recognized for his versatile contributions to the music industry. He gained widespread acclaim for his rendition of the song “Give Me Some Sunshine” from the movie 3 Idiots, earning him the “Best Emerging Male Performer” award at the Max Stardust Awards.

Jagan embarked on his singing career in 1990, and his musical journey has encompassed solo projects and fronting the rock band Dream Out Loud. His distinctive voice and musical prowess have also been featured in advertising jingles, adding to his multifaceted artistic portfolio.

His foray into Bollywood began with the song “Hum Naujawan Hai” from the movie Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi in 1997. Over the years, Jagan’s repertoire expanded to include notable tracks like “Hey Jhonny” from Johnny Gaddaar, “Dum Lagaa” from Dil Dosti Etc, and “No Big Deal” from Money Hai Toh Honey Hai. He played a crucial role in the movie Rock On!! where he performed the song “Zehreelay,” showcasing his versatility and even making a cameo appearance in the film.

In 2009, Jagan recorded the chart-topping song “Give Me Some Sunshine” for the critically acclaimed film 3 Idiots. His collaboration with music director Shantanu Moitra proved highly successful, establishing Jagan as a prominent playback singer in the industry.

Jagan’s subsequent playback singing projects included “Rang De” from My Name Is Khan, “Dil Dil Hai” from 7 Khoon Maaf, and “Baby When You Talk to Me” from Patiala House. His duet with Mahalaxmi Iyer, “Sadka Kiya,” from the movie I Hate Luv Storys, secured the top spot on Indian music charts and remains one of his favorite Bollywood songs.
