Sapan Saran

Sapan Saran is a multi-talented artist based in Mumbai, known for her work as a poet, writer, and actor. She is also the co-founder of the theater company “Tamaasha,” which is dedicated to exploring innovative theatrical concepts in alternative performance spaces.

Sapan’s journey in the world of theater began when she collaborated with renowned dancer Astad Deboo. She has authored plays such as “Club Desire” and “Classics Redux,” both of which were directed by the veteran theater director Sunil Shanbag. In addition to her writing contributions, she also co-directed the play “Marriage-ology” alongside Sunil Shanbag. Notably, her play “Club Desire,” produced by Theatre Arpana and the National Centre for the Performing Arts (India), received recognition when it was selected for the National School of Drama’s International Theatre Festival, Bharat Rang Mahotsav 2015.

One of her notable works in theater is “The Churchgate Couple,” a short 10-minute segment from “Marriage-ology,” which she wrote. This piece garnered praise from both critics and audiences. Sapan remains actively involved in theatrical performances, and her involvement extends to modeling in various advertisements and acting in films.

Beyond her theater and acting career, Sapan Saran is also an accomplished poet, with her poems appearing in several magazines, including Sahitya Akademi’s “Samkaaleen Bhaarteeya Sahitya.” She is set to publish her first book of poems, marking a significant milestone in her literary journey.

In terms of her filmography, Sapan has made appearances in projects such as Sun TV’s “Kanden Kadhalai” and Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Telugu film “Ye Maaya Chesave,” where she worked alongside Naga Chaitanya.
