Biography:

Sunny Deol, born as Ajay Singh Deol on October 19, 1956, is an acclaimed Indian actor, director, and producer who primarily works in the Hindi film industry, also known as Bollywood. He hails from a prominent film family, being the son of veteran actor Dharmendra and the brother of fellow actors Bobby Deol and Esha Deol.

Sunny Deol made his acting debut in 1983 with the film “Betaab,” which was a commercial success and received critical acclaim. His portrayal of a young romantic hero garnered him recognition and established him as a promising actor in Bollywood. Following this breakthrough, he starred in a series of successful films in the 1980s and 1990s, cementing his position as a prominent action star.

Some of Sunny Deol’s notable films include “Arjun” (1985), “Ghayal” (1990), “Ghatak: Lethal” (1996), “Damini” (1993), “Gadar: Ek Prem Katha” (2001), and “Border” (1997). These films showcased his intense performances, action sequences, and patriotic themes, which resonated strongly with audiences. His iconic dialogue delivery and powerful screen presence have become trademarks of his acting style.

In addition to acting, Sunny Deol has also ventured into directing and producing films. He made his directorial debut with the film “Dillagi” in 1999, in which he also starred alongside his brother Bobby Deol. He has since directed and produced films like “Ghayal Once Again” (2016) and “Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas” (2019), which launched his son Karan Deol as an actor.

He has received two National Film Awards, one for Best Supporting Actor in “Damini” (1993) and another for Best Film on Other Social Issues for “Ghayal” (1990). Apart from his film career, Sunny Deol has been actively involved in politics. In 2019, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and was elected as a Member of Parliament from the Gurdaspur constituency in Punjab.
