In 2006, Malhotra appeared in Manish Goswami’s “Aisa Desh Hai Mera” on Sony television, showcasing his versatility in both cinema and television. He has been part of hit movies such as “Jab We Met,” “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag,” “Punjab 1984,” and “Children Of War.” A retrospective to celebrate his 25 years in cinema was held at India International Centre (IIC), Delhi, in 2016.
In the latest Hindi web series “Grahan” on Disney+ Hotstar, released on June 24, 2021, Pavan Malhotra played the character of Rishi Ranjan/Gursewak Singh, the father of Amrita Singh (Zoya Hussain).
