Brazilian pianist and film composer Marcelo Uchoa Zarvos. Paulo is where Zarvos was born. He attended Berklee College of Music and started studying classical music in his teens. After that, he studied at the California Institute of the Arts, where he earned a BFA in music in 1992.
His jazz compositions are well-known, and he achieved fame with the album Dualism, which featured saxophonist Peter Epstein. Kissing Jessica Stein, The Door in the Floor, Boynton Beach Club, The Air I Breathe, Sin Nombre, Beastly, The Beaver, Won’t Back Down, The Words, American Ultra, The Choice, Wonder, Emancipation, Flamin’ Hot, Big George Foreman, May December, and KPop Demon Hunters are just a few of the films for which he has composed soundtracks. The string quartet ETHEL has recorded his music several times. He has two kids with Janel Moloney, his spouse.
